currency
Quote2cart prefers to quote in Euros. We believe our customers want the best possible price and if we were to quote in US Dollars, we would have to increase our prices to take account of currency fluctuations. However, if required, we will quote in US Dollars.

export packing
We ship in manufacturers’ original cartons but to avoid damage in transit, cartons are placed in made-to-measure wood crates, made by a firm of specialist crate makers. Where required, cartons are also reinforced for export. We do our very best to ensure that all furniture is well protected in order to avoid problems.

tax and duty
Most upholstered furniture from Europe is free of duty; however, where duty is payable, we will quote for the goods including duty in order to avoid any nasty surprises when the goods arrive in the US. If for any reason, tax has to be paid, the customer would be responsible.

customs inspection
Customs inspections are random although these days, with increased security at ports throughout the world, they are more frequent than they used to be. In the unlikely, event that your goods are selected by customs for a security inspection, we regret you would be liable for the costs which would be payable to the local agent when the goods are cleared.

delivery arrangements
Our aim is always to offer the best possible service at the best possible price and this also applies to delivery. We always quote shipping with delivery included. Simple delivery means curb-side or door delivery since the cost of in-house delivery in the US is considerably more expensive. If you require delivery either ground floor or to an apartment via stairs or elevator, we will be pleased to quote. In this way, weekend delivery can also be arranged to suit individual requirements.

curb-side delivery
Standard delivery is a one-man service. This means that the driver will deliver to the curb-side or door only, which means you may need to have good help on-hand to assist in carrying the carton/s inside your building. Larger items are often heavy and bulky and do need to be carried with care but many customers prefer to arrange this themselves and save on what would otherwise be charged for in-house delivery.

in-house delivery
If your order is for large, heavy furniture and you require full delivery service, we will be very glad to arrange this for you or agree with you when you place your order that this can be arranged locally via the agent when your order arrives; often this is the most cost effective way to organise in-house delivery in the United States. Charges vary from State to State and where you live. Please provide specific details for delivery: We would need to know if there are any particular access constraints? Are there any narrow streets, doorways or staircases? What floor do the goods have to get to and is there an elevator? For large and/or heavy items like sofas, please state the size of the elevator and width of its entrance. If the goods need to be carried up any stairs, it is important to consider the width of the staircase.

Evening and weekend delivery can usually be arranged. A “White Glove” service including unpacking, assembly and positioning of your furniture as well as removal of packing materials, is available in many areas.
